Download price vs pattern price

Edited by anniekins at 2025-8-7 13:26

I have a question. For example, this pattern https://www.pindiy.com/thread-671159-1-1.html has a price: 70 pins.

It also indicates, that Download cost is "Pin -199".
Question: If I want to buy this pattern, how much would it costs me, 70? or 199? or 70+199 pins?

It's going to cost 199 and 70 will go back to the person who posted the topic.

Thanks for the clarification, @manange! Now, another question: Who established the price of downloading (-199 pins), the person who shared the pattern, or Pindiy mods?

It is interesting that the repaint area would have a completely different purchasing structure than other areas. Other areas charge the pattern price PLUS download price for you to get the pattern.

My understanding has always been that the pattern price is what you pay for the pattern (with the OP getting 70% of that), then to download the pattern you pay a download price (ie an additional 199 to the site in repaint area). So it would cost 70+199 = 269 total. The OP would get about 49 pin from the transaction. I believe the 199 download price is in the repaint area only. Other areas only charge 30 to download a file.

I get it but also don't get it. I published a pattern and did set the price as 150, do I get the 150 or does it go straight to the site for the download price and I get nothing? I am new so this is a bit confusing. Thank you!
