Image of my work was taken down due to question of ownership.
Edited by anniekins at 2025-8-16 20:55I made a thread in the beading diary forum last month (2025-06-23), including a picture of my own work. It was "taken down", if thats what having it moved to the recycled forum implies, 2 days ago (2025-07-18) with the moderator comment "Please share own works ... pictures not belong to you".
I'm not sure how that was proven, if someone saw it posted somewhere else on the internet and brought it to a moderators attention or what, but it's left me severely confused.
I had made the beaded dog in the photo 6 months ago for my aunt who requested it for christmas. Although I mostly followed an already existing pattern when making it, I made modifications due to the pattern being for a poodle, when I needed it to look more like a cavapoo instead. So, it's most likely one-of-a-kind, and for it to be mistaken as someone else's work is confounding. I also had posted the finished work on my IG/FB beading pages months ago as well, and even have a picture of it being half-made. I took the pictures, made it into a collage, and added graphics including a watermark I put in the bottom corner on a lot of my works.
I would appreciate more details on why it was taken down and/or if this issue could be rectified. I am happy to provide proof if needed.
@Turquoise Since my aunt commissioned me to make it for her for a christmas gift, I don't have it anymore and can't take a current picture. But I do have the uncropped pictures I took before I made them into a collage, and a picture I had taken of it before I added the front legs and ears on my bead board, which I've attached here.
I used white photography backdrop boards to take the pictures, and I edit the lighting to make it look as close to how it looks in person (I have a photography light box that I use instead nowadays). I used to try and sell my works through social media, which is why I try to make them look professional, and this particular dog I was selling as a remake by request, since my aunt bought the original. I gave up trying to sell earlier this year, though, due to being super unsuccessful with it.
OMG, imagine being so good at photography AND beading that they confuse your work for a professional! LOL I wouldn't worry too much, just talk it out with the mods. In fact, I bet they'll enjoy having someone so skilled showing off in the diary section! I'll certainly enjoy seeing your work :)
