I can no longer open PAT files SAGA no longer supported in USA
Edited by anniekins at 2025-8-10 20:18I went to open a few .pat files on my android tablet and they would no longer open. I have downloaded cross stitch Saga to be able to.
Unfortunately, the App is no longer supported in the United States it has been removed from the App store!!!!! ? I am not sure when all of this took affect.
I do not own a windows based computer to be able to use PC Stitch pattern viewer. According to what I have read that PC stitch patterns cannot be converted to PDF and uploaded to the forum, which is a shame.
I have tried various other apps to open the .pat files but they do not work. These files are exclusive to PC Stitch.
I am upset about all of this. I have so many useless files now. No fault of the wonderful Admins or Moderators here.
Being a member here for a very long time I have so many files. If the members here could be so kind to upload PDF's of patterns it would help so much.
Fingers crossed I am still able to open .xsd files for now. Hopefully this does not change also.
In closing, I just wanted my fellow members in the United States to be aware of the changes and to be careful not to download any files are in Repaint area with the .pat extension and sorry for any members that will lose out on their gold coins.
Happy Stitching!!!!
I have not tested this but I wonder if you can use fileproinfo website to view the file and them maybe screenshot it. Just a thought. The website convert.guru might also be a option. StitchFairy replied at 2025-8-11 13:37

Those sites did not work Thank You for Replying
Darn, that stinks.:( Try GIMP a free image editor that either works or has versions for all types of devises Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. It's not something I've used but I have heard good things.
PC stitch patterns can be printed out as PDFs the same as XSD ones can. I know this as done it myself.
As for SAGA, simply download the one here and install the APK file directly.
It makes no difference what country you are in.
Google have removed it from google apps but it's still obtainable through the developers website and from here.
It opens both as I am using it myself without error.
You are welcome. Happy to help where I can :$
