New here, not sure how to level up
So, I just got here and I'm trying to understand how everything works.I found a pattern that I really like, but it says that my level can't access it. I read some posts about leveling up and they say that you have to be active and complete tasks.
I have 1309 "pin", but no credit aned I don't understand the diference. I think I need 26 credits to level up but I don't really get how it works.
Can someone help?
Hi! So, the difference between pins and credits is that one is the 'currency' here and the other is like 'experience' in a videogame. You spend pin on the patterns that you like in order to download them. You earn both pin and credits when you post and interact on the forums. Here's the mathematical breakdown: CREDITS = Replies x 0.1 + Threads x 0.26 + Digests x 5 + Online time / 1.5. So, for every 4 new threads, 10 replies or 1.5 hours of online time, you'll get a credit. Do not try to spam your way into credits. We try to discourage that to create meaningful connections :) You'll get there eventually, and honestly, at level 0 you can download virtually anything posted and approved by mods. Leveling up only adds collections and private messaging, so useful things to further interact and save patterns here. https://www.pindiy.com/forum-268-1.html
I think you choose a pattern out of here? patterns in here still need to be checked for duplicate, being complete etc.
When it all right the moderators send it to the right section.
You can put it in your favorites, so you can easily found them back once they are moved. Caro1970 replied at 2025-8-16 03:10

Oh! I see. Thank you for explaining!!
Trust even at lvl 4 I can't get some cute patterns and I wanna cry! Hello hope nobody minds me jumping in here.
I"m new here, I was given the website link by a fellow cross stitcher so hope that's okay.
So Hi to everyone, Iaq prefer cross stitch, it's been my hobby for many years and has helped me through some difficult times.
Just looking for new patterns to stitch and to make new friends.
I am also bedridden, so the Internet is my only access to the world and to meet new people.
I can see there are many people here, from all over the world. Different countries,.time.zones, culture and language!
I'd love to know more about you and where you from.
Nothing too personal of couse, just friendly chat.
Happy Crafting everyone. :)

Thank you so much, you've been so helpful providing me with instructions and links to posts that explain everything.
I'm lucky to have met such a lovely person.
Thank you :loveliness:
That is one of the best explanations I’ve ever seen. I’ve been in this forum for years but got so frustrated because I couldn’t figure it out so I rarely visited it. I’ll definitely be here more often now that I understand. Thank you so much for the helpful explanation. It makes so much sense.
