Hello! I was just wondering if there is a way to block or mute a thread/post? I'm kinda sick of seeing the same AI generated patterns over and over again in the crochet section and I'm looking for a way to personally stop seeing them. If not it's ok, I'll just scroll away lol
Thank you ^_^

How do such patterns if they are a problem get past moderation?  And if there's nothing actually won ...

Personally, I don't know if the actual patterns was generated using AI but the images definetly were. Generative AI engines are detrimental to the environment and negatively impact the communities where the warehouses that store their phyical hardware are located because the engines use tons of water and electricity (lots of carbon emissions). If the patterns are made using AI, that's another bag of worms due to known issues of these models stealing from real people's work on the internet uncredited or even outright "hallucinating" and outputting nonsense that is not true, won't work, and/or does not make any practical sense.

Overall, the images make me question the validity of the pattern and I am unwilling to spend my time on a project that I am uncertain will pan out (particularly as a slow crafter) and I especially do not want to encourage the destruction and callous use of our limited resources by way of AI. Additionally, in my original post, I did say, "I'm looking for a way to personally stop seeing them," in that I was looking for a way to make the threads go away from my screen. I know other people are entitled to what they believe they should have access to these days :)

I do not think there is a way to do that. Same issue in a lot of other areas. I just scroll past them too.

How do such patterns if they are a problem get past moderation?  And if there's nothing actually wong with the patterns, what is the issue?

I've noticed in craft places on Reddit everything gets called AI or a pattern mill if someone doesn't like something, I really hope that's not going to happen here.

With the way genAI is currently you have to actually make the item in order to tell if a pattern has been created using genAI. Some that look like it based on their images may not actually be genAI patterns
