AI Patterns Untagged...Again.
So...I came onto the forum today to see another batch of patterns from one designer has been uploaded to the crochet section. Hmm. A lot of patterns from one designer in a craft that is increasingly being abused by AI generated patterns (crochet)...worth a google, right? This is in regard to Mrs Chance crochet patterns:
Posting this here in hopes to spread the word to those that don’t know already.
The Etsy seller mrschancecrochet has been stealing patterns and using ai generated images to sell the stolen patterns.
One example is their bat pattern. The original creator is sassaroodesigns. I have both patterns and can verify that it is indeed stolen.
I’ve reported them to Etsy multiple times via the report listing button and by chatting support, nothing is ever done.
They have great reviews because their patterns state they’ll give you a free pattern if you give them a 5 star review which is against Etsys terms. But what’s frustrating is the bad reviews, even if they’re recent, don’t show unless you do some scrolling.
Overall don’t buy from this shop. I know many people are already aware of this happening, but many aren’t and this shop keeps making money off of others hard work.
Not cool and the second time I've had to point this out. On my original thread raising this issue, the overwhelming opinion was that users do not want these AI generated patterns here but if they must be, they should be clearly tagged. These weren't. I'm sure the moderators have a tough job here but they have commited to ensuring AI patterns are tagged. This information took one google search. If they can't commit to checking then maybe any patterns that are identified as AI should just be pulled and the rules changed to make clear that AI isn't welcome here.
Again, I welcome discussion around AI and it's place on this forum on this thread.

There is more to my complaint than just the AI patterns being here though. In my previous thread,...
First of all... We are sharing site... Not a pattern dedective , Hunter of AI patterns ...
WE DONT SALE ANY PATTERN IN HERE... And our relationship dont base from TRUST ... We dont make/create the patterns...
We just share the patterns... We our policy very clear ....
If pattern is sale we will accept.... If we have any data about it is AI pattern , we will warn to users ....
And we will dont accept the Free AI patterns...
If any user share with us , Info about pattern ofcourse We will consider it.
If you dont want to be here ... If you frustered with our shares , please just dont be access your account in here ...
Our moderators work so hard already ... They are volunteers , who have real lifes real jobs .... They dont earn any real money from this hard works ...
Please be careful with your tone when you talk with them ...

To say you don't sell patterns here is a little bit...well, we exchange pins for patterns, right?...
We dont make/salethe patterns, We are sharing site , I guess very hard to understand for you...
You can not decide how many moderator will work here ... Or how being moderator in here , what must they do.... You shared 10-12 patterns in here and you critics who shares 3000 patterns people in here ... Or accept / examinate daily 50-60 patterns moderators in here .... If we see any problem , our users report to us and and we can solve , thats it ... We can warn to users but our moderators DONT HAVE TO try to all patterns , or search on the google ...
We create this site with good vibes , we are good people .... You can ask our "building TRUST" in here to anyone ... But our base is "Sharing" ... We dont judge designer works , just we are warning to users , if we see any problem on the patterns ... Or any user warns about it, we consider on it ... Even add to posts about it a note
Being moderator in here very hard and need long term education... Yes, absolutely an idetity ... And absolutely you must obey to them ... You can not talk about them higher tones ...We have already rule and policy about AI patterns and our moderators absolutely done great jobs ...
Pleasethink to not access to your account in here before my uncomfortable feelings ,... Also Every day I am proud with my moderator friends , what they have done in here
I would also like to see a section dedicated to AI patterns. In a way that the patterns don't get posted to the crochet section. Ai patterns don't have a place in the crochet community in my opinion Edited by TJ66 at 2026-2-11 15:59

Because the general feeling I've gotten from these threads is that the majority don't want them. I ...
Why on earth should the moderators explain to you what they do? The way you have worded your response comes across as a personal attack on them and it's just not needed. Moan about the AI patterns all you want, none of us want them here but at the end of the day it's still very simple, if you don't like the way the forum is run then don't use it.

To say you don't sell patterns here is a little bit...well, we exchange pins for patterns, right? That we earn by doing certain tasks? Exchanging currency earned for a good or service sounds like a sale to me. Just because it's not real money (though you can pay real money for pins) doesn't mean it's not a sale.
I don't think my tone is disrespectful. I have pointed out that I'm just frustrated because it takes seconds to do a google search and I only do it when I see ten plus patterns from the same designer? Are you saying you couldn't implement that? If you're overworked, you need more moderators. That's just logical, right?
Trust is great but it needs open communication to be maintained and truths to be spoken aloud. Trust doesn't just happen.
This thread is just my truth, that's all.
If you feel uncomfortable with that, just sit with it and figure out why. I haven't said anything personal. Moderating is role, a task not an identity.
Instead of making yet another post complaining about the same thing, why don't you try and be helpful and just report any pattern that you think is AI generated? The moderators have a hard enough job as it is and don't have the time to do in depth searches on google. Or you can do what other people on here do and not download a pattern that you think is AI....and if you feel it's that bad on here then why use the site, no one is forcing you to be here! please report here: https://www.pindiy.com/thread-496157-1-1.html pitussa replied at 2026-2-9 20:18
please report here: https://www.pindiy.com/thread-496157-1-1.html
There is more to my complaint than just the AI patterns being here though. In my previous thread, it was said moderators were going to step up in identifying and tagging AI patterns. If that isn't done, then people aren't being given the information they are entitled to in order to make informed choices. Both of my threads have gathered responses that are largely negative about AI patterns even being on this website. If the moderators can't be bothered to do very low effort brief google searches (and honestly, I only do them when I see a huge number of patterns from one designer uploaded...those etsy shops that seemingly always have 70% off? Usually AI because it costs nothing to generate a bunch of rubbish) then it makes for a bad relationship on a forum that should really run on trust.
How about the moderators reward people who present evidence of AI usage in patterns? Let's say...oh, 500 pins per pattern. If you're handing out rewards for people to make this patterns into something workable, then you can reward people doing the very thing you said you would do, right?
I'm frustrated to be having to flag this again, honestly.
I totally agree with you.
Maybe the mods let it slide cause pattern was real even though image might be ai..
Idk much tho I'm just guessing.
I saw some patterns on here that were definitely AI saturn_8797 replied at 2026-2-9 21:21

If you wish, feel free to post them in this thread or start another.
Maybe if we fill the forum with our feelings on the issue and the sheer amount of AI patterns under the radar here, it'll be taken a little more seriously.
