Do you buy the patterns just to upload it here?
Who is buying the pattern to just upload it here? How worthy is it?If it's worth it for the pin, meh. It really depends on how popular the designer is and whether or not it's already here. But think about it this way: you benefit from people uploading their paid patterns here, right? For free, since you don't need to pay for pin. Also, to get pin, you need to engage in the community, reply to posts, and thank people. You probably will or have made friends here. So, whenever you do decide to buy the pattern, it's logical to help the people who have helped you. Sharing is caring, they say.
However, I would never! Ever! Notify the creator of the pattern I'm sharing the pattern. Most laws call that pirating! And you put the community at risk of getting targeted, shut down, or other bad things. If it fits into my budget and the pattern is one I want, I buy it. Sometimes I wait for a sale. And if it's not here, I upload :) Edited by spoonygoon at 2026-2-24 18:55

That's nice. I'm curious if it's worth to upload here what you bought
It's one of the best ways to get Pin. People are always buying patterns and next time I check, new uploads I get 500-1000 Pin in a day, older patterns maybe that same amount but in a week.
I don't do it for Pin alone though, it also feels good to preserve and share. You never know when a pattern may disappear or retire from official websites or stores.
To notify the creator would be like flagging a policeman down to tell him you just stole something from a store. I've seen a lot about how Pin's are free. Technically they are, you can get them without having to pay money for them. But, to get them you do have to invest a lot of your time and spare time isn't always easy to get. irenoir replied at 2026-2-25 05:41

I see. Do you notify the designer about reposting it? I was wondering the same thing. I first landed on this website because I wanted free patterns, so I suppose just buying patterns and uploading them here to get coins defeats the purpose Mommacat replied at 2026-3-8 10:00

No, to protect the website and those who contribute.
I did. But who on earth would notify the creator about doing this? That's utter nonsense!
