Male sewing patterns
Hey all! This is not a post to complain about the sewing forum, not at all, but - If you gals and guys have male sewing patterns to share - please do!
As a man on this site (and probably one of not so many), I feel like male patterns are very rare here.
Maybe we can make a forum that'd attract more male audience? like 3D printing crafts and arts tools?
No sé cómo hablar aquí jdnfnfnmf ayudaaaa yes, but sizes and the way it fits will still be different. in my eyes, at least. and once you change one thing, it might (most likely) will lead to another change, and another change...
More women sewing than men, so more women sewing patterns, that is the truth… if you add to that fact that some men aren’t very interested in being given a handmade garment, it means that women who could also sew for men sometimes haven’t got any men patterns, so I understand that you have a hard time finding patterns and that is why I think a special forum won’t really help you having more choice. That said, I think the best solution for you would be to learn pattern making, it is a very fun thing to learn and you can more easily find book especially for men pattern making. If it takes time to know how to draw your personal pattern from scratch it doesn’t take long to learn pattern manipulation using a pattern you already own and you will soon realise that from the same pattern, you can make garments that look completely different, which means you don’t need to own a l’or of pattern to get a great variety of clothes. I wish you a happy sewing journey ! darksuppamen replied at 2026-3-29 03:22
Yean patterns are genderless, just find sometings your males likes
I think a problem is that many of them are dresses. Looking in the sewing section, there is... dress, womens tracksuit, dressing robe, dress, dress, mushroom, blouse, dress, shirt-dress, skirt...
Of course some guys will gladly wear a dress or a skirt or even a blouse but I think that is not a common occurence, and the cut of these patterns is definitely more feminine. mardy replied at 2026-3-20 04:43
I agree with you.I would love to be able to make more things for the men in my family
I am glad to see i am not alone in this! :handshake: :D That's a shame
i am really over wearing the same pattern jeans for the millionth time, and I'm sure I'm not alone :(
I will check the other crafts sections Edited by rubyyy at 2026-3-20 08:41
It is just there aren't many produced in the industry (sewing patterns). If you are into leathercraft definitely check Other Crafts section So, when you said "male patterns" you meant "clothes for men". This is just the way it is - main auditory is women. Yes, I meant clothes for men. And yes, the main audience is women. and yet, my point still stands :)
More clothes for men should be posted here. What are the "male sewing patterns"? You can take any pattern and make it, regardless of gender. I agree with you.I would love to be able to make more things for the men in my family Holaaaaa, que es esto?
