RAR Files

Whatdoes everyone use to open the RAR files you get here. I have tried severaldifferent programs to open them and about half the time it tells the file isdamaged. It is getting to a point that I wont get the RAR files because I cannotget them to work. Any advice appreciated. TIA

WinRAR is the most commonly used software used to extract rar files. If you have a problem with a particular post, you can always inquire.  Always include a link please.

I have found 7zip to be good at opening rar files. I dont think this software is in the forum but I might be wrong. Just google it if its not. Also, I have found that certain times of the day ( usually evening for me ) downloading doesnt always work right. There is many a time I had multiple download files and one would not download right. You have 7 days to go back and download a file for free, so try another time to download the problem file again. Most times this will work. Hope this helps. :)

sometimes it helps to re-install the program,
if your server is slow, maybe it doesnt download the entire file complet

I have used WinRar for years and have never had a problem opening or creating rar files.

Personally, I like FROG, which is a free download, and I found much more user friendly than winrar and 7zip. It has never given me any problems, and makes it easy to rename files, as they pop up separately (which I find practical with the way I file x-stitch files). Because of FROG, I find rar files easy as pie compared to zip files which just are a bother all around (but I still get them).
