been busy sorting, and sorting!

For the last little while I have been sorting all my digital cross stitch patterns (and there is alot of them).

I have been collecting for a fair while now, and since coming to this site I have grown my collection a fair bit. SO now time to sort, and I am putting all the scanned ones into pdf files. I figure then I just have 1 files instead of 5,10,20 etc files per pattern. Plus takes up less room.

Then sorting into different folders (themes, compaines etc).

Will take long time, but it will be worth it, and it should make it easier to find out what I have and dont have, that way I can save more!!!!!!!!

Good idea put all mine on an external hard disc in folders

I did all that with mine & had them stored on an external hard drive, then the hard drive crashed & I lost the whole lot! My recommendation is to back up all or if not all, then your favourites onto cds or print them. :)

Sorting and filing charts give me just as much satisfaction as stitching.  However, it may not necessarily help me find charts easier LOL.  REason : i forget the categories I file them in !

Backing them up in external drives is wise though.

You can also open a gmail account or two, and upload them there! That way theyre stored on another server if you need them.
