help please

any help would be excellent,
i am new i have just joined how do you get gold coins/points??
i had 50 coins when i joined there was a pattern i wanted said 50 coins so i clicked it but it never downloaded instead i noticed it went to the points area??
im needing this pattern to complete my daughters dress up outfit it would put the icing on the cake.
any help would be greatly appriciated im need the pattern within the next week :S

You would need the 50 coins for the person that uploaded the pattern and the site charges 30 for each download.  So in total you would need 80 to get the pattern wanted.
