How do I edit my old thread?

Hello, probably very basic question: How to edit an old thread? I wanted to upload my progress on my work, but could only reply to the thread. I did not find the edit button...

In the diary areas, you can start a new topic or reply to your old thread to show progress of your work.

Thanks for answer. Reply is no problem, that I found. I wanted to put progress on the top, in the original thread posting - but apparently I cannot do it, I checked all advanced options as well... :(
