Is there a tip to being able to decypher them without having the ability to speak that tongue? I can only speak English, but there are so many Russian, Dutch etc patterns that I would dearly love to try.

What do you think? Is there a way?
Cheers!

Hi!
Trying to use a good online translator may be of good help and in case of crochet patterns , which usually includes charts is easier as theres less to traduce. There are good yarn stores which provides terminology in different languages as well . Always stay alert about any group that may pop up of your nationality that could be offering those patterns already traduced :)

I speak English and Portuguese, but I have done some amigurumi following russian and japanese patterns. The tip is pay attention to the amount of stiches and sometimes translate the words with google translate ^^"

I already speak French, English and Spanish fluently. Im learning other languages just because of the knitting patterns. :D
The only tip I have is that some languages have a distinct style of writing. You sort of have to decipher that to get going. Use google translate and also look up some terminology on the Drops web site. I still havent tried one  in Russian because they use the Cyrillic alphabet and it seems more difficult to me anyway.

Thank you so much everyone! I am going to add these to my "to-do" lists hehe. I need to find a few days where I have absolutely nothing on so I can just sit and concentrate to try work these out. Perhaps knowing which patterns come with a good amount of photographs will help also.

Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me.

The German one is very bad quality thats why it looks small. But the German translation is repeated in the box below. Anyway if you search in Google translation of crochet points  Post time 2018-2-20 22:15
