Where can I find a tutorial about how gridding evenweave? It seems tricky..

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl5vZNo6K7k thats a pretty good tutorial. But if you search youtube for "how to grid fabric for cross stitch", there are any number of tutorials.

When someone visits this page from a link you share, you will be rewarded

I prefer linen, and really like 40 count!  I only have to stitch with one thread!

Oh, choosing the “best” fabric for cross-stitch—it’s kind of like picking your favorite coffee blend; it really depends on your taste and project! For most folks, classic Aida cloth is the go-to because it’s easy to count, widely available, and comes in lots of colors and counts to suit beginners and pros alike. It’s forgiving and perfect when you need a quick, clear grid—great when you’re sneaking in stitches between diaper duty. If you want something a bit fancier or smoother, evenweave or linen fabrics are beautiful choices—they give your finished work a delicate, refined look but can be a bit trickier to work with, especially if you’re still mastering your tension. Personally, I stick to Aida for everyday projects and save linen for special pieces when I have a bit more time and patience. At the end of the day, the best fabric is the one you enjoy stitching on and that fits your project and lifestyle—because happy hands make happy stitches!
