Limit On the Year You Can Reply on a Post

When I first joined, like many people I got the "reply twice on the same post notice" at times. Anyway I did it on one particular post, and the Moderator sent me a notice and also mentionied the fact that it was a very old post - in other words - like I probably shouldnt have replied on such an old post in the first place  So ever since I pretty much keep to the any post within the last 2 years. However, Ive been noticing lots of people replying on posts in the past few months that were created in 2009 and even earlier. Ones I thought I wasnt allowed to.


So my question is: Is there any rule on the date of a post and the date you reply on it as long as you dont reply twice? May be a stupid question but being a newbie when the Moderator said the "old post" thing made me feel Id done something wrong. Thanks

There is no time limit as long as you reply only once in a thread.

Please dont feel bad I think most of us have replied to a post twice in error over our time here. So long it is not something that you do all the time the moderators understand it was not on purpose. Anytime it is noticed you will get a message reminding you that you replied more than once. They do not wish for you to stop responding. Also it is not the same as replying in free talk where you can respond more than once.
