Converting knitting in the round to flat. The solution

Dear wonderful Ladies

I think I have found tbe solution I reached out to one of the knitting groups I belong to on fb and have recieved many offers of help. As soon as I have all the information, I will report back. There were a few ladies who were also struggling as well and I thought  it was only me. I really was beginning to think that I was really stupid.
I will be posting the information  I have recieved. I am over the moon happy. I hope you are all well and are having the most wonderful  time getting ready for the Christmas celebrations.

Hi Wendy.  When youre knitting in the round, and you want stockinette stitch, of course you eliminate purling, because you are going round and round on the outside of the garment and the inside looks as if it was purled (or reverse stockinette, not true garter).  Also, because your previously done in the round garment will now have to be seamed, youll want to add a couple stitches on each side to allow for the seam.  And, because you are working the piece flat from side to side, now you indeed are going to have to knit one row, purl the next, and so on in order to achieve stockinette stitch.  It is funny because Ive heard people want to turn a side to side knit into an in the round knit more often than vice versa.

I hope you do find the answers you seek.  Knitting is interesting -- so much diversity coming from 2 little stitches.

Hello there and thank you so so much. May I ask if you are knitting  the pattern on 2 needles I understand  that you knit one row and purl the next,  does that not increase the amount of rows that you are knitting for instance knitting a dolls head, also when a pattern calls for you to either increase or decrease  on every  row. I hope this all makes sense. Ii am still very much a novice but enjoy knitting  so very much. I have to run but cannot wait to talk again, thats if you dont mind me and my  questions
