High difficulty pattern! Look on the paths. Notice not only simple diagonals, but over one cell and one row also (look at jpg-file). Purple grid every 10 cells of "background" yarn.

Grey bobble symbols here - can be beads. Any compatitable size and color you want and any way of adding even sewing after crochet finished. Of course, if you dont want to use beads or crochet bobbles (with "image" yarn), that may be inconvenient for picnic blanket, but rather interesting for bedspread, just make cells with "background" yarn.
