Do you condition silk threads?

Ive never been a fan of thread conditioner, conditioned thread doesnt seem much different than normal.

I've never used it on silk as it's so nice and smooth to work with :) I'm not sure if a conditioner may affect and/or stain the silk? I'm probably overly careful with my silks though.
