Still new and learning, can someone help?

I recently joined and I have been learning my way around the site. I was just curious for myself, if I come across a pattern and for example it says pattern - portugese - translated is the pattern in the first language (portugese in this example) or is it translated from portugese into english? Sorry if this is a silly question but I am still earning coins and I dont want to waste them by picking the wrong version. Thanks guys! <3

This means that the pattern was translated by a member although the designer did not publish it in that particular language. The default language of this site is English but if there is another language mentioned in the title, the pattern is written in that language.
