I am new to the site and am still only on user group DIY.0
I thanked everybody on who commented on my first post which was in Crochet Diary.
Today I received a private message saying I had spammed. I understand and going forward will not do this again.
I was also told "I cannot accept the same pictures of a toy. Ill merge that into the other thread". I had searched and had not seen anything similar. I also thought you could post items you were working on or had completed in the Diary. I understand no duplicates being allowed in Patterns.
So please can somebody help me:
1. how do I thank people without using "reply"
2. can you not post in Diary if somebody else has posted the same item?

Thank you!

You can thank people by using a Comment button. Unfortunately, its not available until you get to level 1, so I would suggest to write on other peoples threads for now. It wont take long. Good luck!

Your first question has been answered, so heres the answer for the second one:

Its okay to post finished objects regardless if others have already posted their versions. But you can open only one thread for one finished project. Lets say, youve made five pictures of a project (say, a crocheted sunflower): pic.1 is after the first few stitches, pic2. is after all the parts are done, but before sewing them together, pic.3 is the finished object, pic.4 is a closeup of the finished object, pic.5 has your recent finish in a bouquet of some already finished flowers (made by following other patterns than the sunflower). Pic.1 and pic.2 can be posted in separate threads, as they show your progress on the project. Of course, there has to be a reasonable amount of progress shown (usually, milestones like the beginning, halfway done, and before the finishing touches are okay to post, but this depends on the size of the project) compared to the previous progress photo, otherwise, the pictures should be posted together. Pic.3 and pic.4 should be posted together because they both show the same finished object, just from different angle/distance. Pic.5 can be posted separately because it shows a collection or a bigger project, but only if you havent published more of the same recently. Lets say, its a 10-flower bouquet, with the sunflower being the 10th - you can post the 10 flowers together right after you posted the finished sunflower, but you cant post a new thread for only two flowers, three flowers, four flowers, and so on in the same sitting just for the sake of posting more threads.
