Maybe Im missing something, maybe theres some fancy syntax. For example, how on earth do you search the designer LE PULL without scrolling through FIVE HUNDRED results? Because you might expect that anything with this phrase would be first, right? NOPE. Youd expect basic phrase search syntax like enclosing quotes, or a phrase entry in the advanced search form? NOPE. If Ive missed something, please let me know! Search is so brittle, and sometimes it only returns a subset of the results, too, so somethings buggy as well as the actual design of it not being well done. And why dont the search results respect the given "post order" option? Theres NO way to order results by time, such as by newness!

Id love to be just missing where all this is, in which case please let me know and make it more widely known. This site has been around for a long time and does have the resources to attend to this. Ive talked to several people on telegram who are just too frustrated with the site to bother learning its quirks and contradictory rules posts.

I dont know why search hasnt modernised to display "fuzzy" results either, like most search engines do these days. As I said, the brittleness really trips people up.

I do appreciate theres some attempt to display the more modern "similar results" to help people find similar patterns, however this is without pictures, and in my experience just seems to identify other patterns I have uploaded, even if they arent similar, which is a bit disconcerting if its meant to be anonymised.

Thats why I go out of my way to have the designer real name in the title.

Searching for by "Katharina Guyon" is more precise than "le pull". I wish people helped with this effort on their uploads.

But yes, I agree. The search results are sometimes too broad. You give a good example.

I guess Ive gotten to the point quite quickly where Ive downloaded pretty much all the patterns I need here and dont really need the coins but have a lot more to upload, and it tends to be reciprocal good will that drives this sharing people do in communities, you know?
