These ads are really annoying

Why when I opened the Pindiy today and logged in, I immediately got this huge ad offering to purchase threads of all kinds on my screen? Why when I clicked on "x" in the upper right corner to close the ad it did NOT disappear? Why it stays no matter how many times you hit that "x"? I could only get rid of it closing the page.
Afetr a while the same ad (in the same full screen size) re-appears on the page I opened. Again the same trick worked - I closed the page completely.
It periodically re-appears, and I am tired of fighting it.
This problem is really annoying, you know?

If the problem persist, you can try with an ad blocker (there are plenty free online, ex: AdBlock) or with a pop up blocker (ex: PopUpOFF). I have yet to encounter issues :)

yes, i don't mind the ads because building a website forum with a lot of member need a lot of money, but the thing is, we cannot close the ads, so i need to close the page and opening a new tab to access it

I've got an adblock extension, which reduced the pop-up window to a smaller one, it easily closes. But it was an unpleasant surprise. Makes me consider twice if I want to open a new page to learn about the pattern

I have been experiencing the same issue sith the impossibility to close a pop-up ad.
Refreshing the page helped.
