MATERIALS.
For each of the styles you will need.
250 - 300 - 350gms. double knitting weight yarn in main shade. (U.S. sport weight AUS. 8ply).
For the red fur set and the silver trimmed set you will also need, 100 - 100 - 100gms. fur yarn.

Knitting in lace.
For the all white set with all lace, you will need 12.5 - 13.5 - 15mts. knitting in lace.
For the silver trimmed set with fur and lace, you will need 8 - 9 - 10mts. knitting in lace. Pair
of 4.00mm. knitting needles, (old no. 8\'s) (U.S. no. 6).
Pair of 3.75mm. knitting needles, (old no. 9s) (U.S. no. 5). Pair of 3.25mm. knitting needles, (old
no. 10\'s) (U.S. no. 3).
The circular needles are needed for the fur hem and also for the start of the yoke. This is only
because it is easier with the number of stitches, nothing is knitted in the round, everything is
worked as normal.
A circular 4.00mm. knitting needles, (old no. 8\'s) (U.S. no. 6). For the fur trimmed hem only. A
circular 3.75mm. knitting needles, (old no. 9s) (U.S. no. 5).
5 - 5 - 5 buttons for coat.
2mts. 25mm. ribbon for the booties and hat. Sewing thread and needles.
Notes.
Good fur yarn seems to mainly be in chunky weight, so I have used King Cole tinsel on the silver
trimmed set, it is really lush. The red set is trimmed with Stylecraft Starlight, the pile is not
quite as dense.
All instructions are given in row counts, so you could knit the set in 4ply and it will come out a
little smaller, use smaller needles too, and it will be better to use a finer fur yarn.
TENSION.
Using 4.00mm. needles and stocking stitch, 22sts. and 28 rows measure 10cms. (4 inches) square.
SIZES.
First size. Small baby 6-8lb approx. chest size 35.5cms. (14 inch) or small 16 -18 inch long reborn
doll.
Second size. 0-3 month new born baby, chest size 40.5cms. (16 inches), or full sized 20 – 22 inch
long reborn doll. Third size. 3-6 month baby, chest size 45.75cms. (18 inches), or larger reborn
doll. |
