[Suggestion] "Scanned" patterns

I was browsing the patterns and i thought "why we call all patterns scanned, even original PDFs from designer"?
I get it that in the beginning patterns were really scanned from paper. But now many patterns exist in electronic form only, so calling them "scanned" is wrong. The same thing with repaint patterns. In the beginning patterns were literally repainted from paper. But with the development of technology digital patterns started to grow in number.
So maybe add some mark showing that pattern is original PDF/XSD or something like that?

Why it's called scanned is technology wasn't advanced as it is now,  patterns were scanned on a copier and uploaded as JPEG files added to an rar file to be uploaded to the forum. I have been a member here since 2010. A long time. If you go back to the original time of the forum you will see pictures with the original logo. The forum has gone through many changes. Designers rarely used pdf files for their designs back then. I actually have some that are handrawn symbols.

To make it easier for members to either download repaint or scanned patterns are separate areas of the forum. It has always been this way and called that way too. If you grouped the two together it would cause confusion on the type you wish to download.  I personally prefer the scanned area even though most of the patterns are now pdf form because the Designers are doing that now.  Before so many had to be printed for their distributor and if not sold they lost money. Pdf files cost nothing.

I get the difference between scanned and repaint.
I talk about different thing: files that come from the designer are not scanned or repainted in literal meaning.
We probably should keep areas as they are, because people are used to it, but include extra row in the description: "original file"  or something like that.
For example:
You scanned a paper pattern? It goes into scanned patterns area. Got a PDF from designer? It also goes into scanned patterns area, but with a mark "original file".
You make an XSD from a pattern? It goes into repaint patterns area. Got an XSD from designer? The same, but with a mark "original file".

To me "repaint" also sounds out-of-date. Let's get modern !

It isn't "out-of-date". Mirabilia Designs, for example, still sells printed charts only. So, any share of their pattern will be a scanned one. And XSD file made from such pattern will be a repaint.
But many other publishers sell PDFs and/or SAGA files directly. These are the ones i suggest to mark as "original file".
