My First Cross Stitch Project

This is my first cross stitch project using cotton threads and Aida fabric. I bought the kit without knowing the difficulty level. I found out later that therere so many fractional stitches there! :( But, surprisingly, I finished all the stitches in a month. Then, I got quite fed up with the backstitch, so I put the project away and started doing other projects.

After four and a half months, I was finally motivated to complete the backstitch and finish the project. I bought the kit with intent to stitch the piece and give it as a wedding present to my friend, but since I couldnt finish it on time, Im just going to wash this finished piece and keep it for later. I wont frame and keep it for myself because the picture isnt my cup of tea.

It did turn out wonderfully!  I know backstitch is a pain but for me it is one of my fav things - it makes the finished piece like this come alive!!
