I just found this website not long ago and felt very lost about posting and user groups. The forum about this was posted back in 2015 so alot has changed. So here is what I learned to help others:
1) You need to create an account to get pins and download the files.

2) Pins (for unlocking downloads)
How to get Pins
  • Complete Tasks: [Username] → My Center → Tasks.
  • Reply to posts: you usually get a small Pin reward (often ~10 Pins) per qualifying reply.
  • Post patterns/resources (after approval) and set a price in Pins.

3) Credits
Credits determine your User Group level and unlock site permissions. Credits ≠ Pins.
Level 1 - 26 points
Level 2 - 126 points
Level 3 - 326 points
Level 4 - 526 points
Level 5 - 826 points
Level 6 - 1260 points
Level 7 - 2260 points
Level 8 - 5260 points
Level 9 - 12600 points

Ways to get credits:
Posting + Being Online

Credits = (Number of posts × 0.1)
        + (Number of topics × 0.26)
        + (Number of featured posts × 5)
        + (Online time in hours / 1.5)
Click User Group (top right). It shows your current Credits and how many you need for the next level.
4) Making a post
Go to Forum then pick a group (some only allow replies and not new threads). Normally I use: https://www.pindiy.com/forum-postnewr-1.html.
This is a good guide on how to post but some things are outdates like currency and permission system.

**Important to note that a moderator will review your post before any documents linked can be accessed. So don't be alarmed if you see this:

**If you set the price to be 150pins, you will only receive 105(not sure why).

Common pitfalls (and fixes)

“My file is uploaded but no one can download it.”
It’s probably in moderation. Wait for approval.
“I can’t start a new thread.”
That section may be replies-only or your User Group lacks permission. Check the section rules and your group level.

I hope this helps!!

30% is deducted from the price as a “fee” for the website operator.
Strange, but that's how it is.

So the higher the price you set yourself, the less you end up with.
For example, with 300 GC, you only get 210 GC.

Great recap. You should be aware also that you can make only one reply per post (exception in free talk) for the rest use comments (under your reply bottom left corner). In case you reply to the same post multiple times (for instance in diaries) you can get reprimated by the moderator if you continue you get a negative charge (your pins are deducted).

In your own posts you reply to the person's reply by using the comments button.

I think you can transfer pins between the two sites but you need a certain number of credits on the other in order to do so.
