Origami Shrug by Elizabeth Lovick

Made from two pieces of 6 triangles joined by a rectangle, the final folding of the work transforms a ball of knitting into a classy shrug!

Things you need to know to make the shrug:

Materials
3 (4, 5, 7) x 50g balls 600 (800, 1000, 1400) yards Artesano alpaca 4 ply/fingering
5 (5.5, 6, 6) mm US 8 (9, 10, 10) needles
one 6 (6.5, 7, 7) mm needle for casting off
5 stitch markers
10 split ring markers or loops of yarn
tapestry needle for sewing up

Sizes
Note that as the fabric is very stretchy, all measurements are approximate

to fit bust up to 32 (42, 52, 60) ins
needle size 5 (5.5, 6, 6) mm
actual bust* 33 (45, 57, 63) ins
back width* 18 (23, 30, 35) ins
length 15 (19, 25, 28) ins
sleeve seam 7 (9, 12, 13) ins
sleeve circumference 15 (19, 25, 28) ins
* note the two fronts do not quite meet when the shrug is laid flat.

Tension
20 (16, 12, 12) sts and 40 (32, 24, 24) rows to 4 ins over garter stitch slightly stretched lengthways.
