I love knitting merino wool and cotton wool. Merino wool is smooth and not itchy. Also I like kasmire and alpaka silk.

Oh, now that’s a question that feels like asking which grandkid you love the most—each yarn has its own special charm! But if I had to pick, I’d say I mostly reach for a good, soft wool—something that’s warm, a bit springy, and just downright cozy. There’s something so satisfying about knitting with wool that feels like a warm hug from the inside out. That said, I never say no to a bit of cotton for lighter projects or a luxurious alpaca when I’m feeling fancy. Honestly, it’s like picking shoes—you want the right fit for the occasion, but you always have your favorites on hand! How about you?

I hate acrylic, but it's honestly the cheapest so I use it the most:(. It's especially used throughout cheap crochet patterns, because crochet will always end up stiff and unwearable anyways, so I may as well just stick to cute little keychains and stuffies. For preference, though, I much prefer to knit with superwash merino or wool-alpaca mixes for a soft, pretty fabric. Caron latte cakes are super nice too >.<

Each new yarn I use is my new favorite! Right now I’m knitting a cardigan from 75% merino/25% silk and I love it. I like rustic wools too, though, especially for cables and colorwork. I also recently made a jumper from alpaca and enjoyed the hand feel of that very much. I think overall I use merino the most, but that is because it is very accessible to me.

I usually like to kniw with natural yarns, mostly merino because it's soft and I like the drape of it! This year I started with cotton for summer knits and it's surprisingly soft too!

I'm currently knitting with silk and it's sooooooo soft. But it's also driving me insane because it's so thin and I'm using 2 mm needles

I usually use cotton yarn for all my project. But the best one I used was a mix between cotton and bamboo, it's so soft and comfy.

I love to knit with merino wool.  My favorite is Malabrigo Rasta, so soft and I love the colors.

I too like Merino wool and silk. It all depends on what I am about to do though.
For my amigurumis I mostly use Catania cotton yarn and its really beautiful to the touch.
Some works are better done with baby yarn which is definitely the most lovely to knit and crochet with.

I love merino wool and baby alpaca.  And lately, Ive started using CoBaSi for summer-weight socks - its got elastic in it, and it wears like iron.  Even my better half hasnt been able to wear holes in socks made from CoBaSi.  :)

Fiber

Edited by DehbiK at 2017-9-16 05:29

I like to knit with many different types of yarns.  Weight-wise and lately its been fingering weight - Ive been knitting shawls.  But I also use a lot of worsted and DK weight.  Fiber content-wise I like merino, bamboo, silk, and cotton blends.  I gave up on most cashmere yarns because they are too expensive and most weights pill, which is a nuisance.  Right now I am knitting a shawl of a linen/modal blend.  It will get softer with each washing so as soon as it is off the needles, which will be in another row or two, Ill wash it!
