Kati Galusz - Gálusz Katalin - Posable Little Dragon

There are many lovely dragon patterns out there, but they all seem to have the ‘four legs plus pair of wings’ type of conformation. So, if you would like dragon that has only one pair of legs and the wings, like the ones featured in A Game of Thrones, this pattern might be just what you need.


This will create a tiny dragon - from DK yarn with 3 mm hook, it will be about 17 cm, and almost half of it the tail. But you can use any yarn weight as long as you choose the hook size accordingly.

The dragon was designed to be posable and won’t look the best without wiring. Depending on yarn weight, 1-4 pipe cleaners (or other, relatively firm wires) are necessary.

The small size means that the dragon requires only a minimal amount of yarn and filling, and can be completed in a short time. On the other hand, the details can be a bit fiddly, so I would classify this as intermediate/advanced level.

Pattern is 10 pages with many photographs, written in English using US crochet terms. Stitches and techniques used:
starting with magic ring, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, half treble crochet (tutorial included), treble crochet, working in back loop only, single crochet decrease.
