note on the grid scarf:
For the first row, you have to make 35+2 stitches (not 34+2 stitches as the video says) for it to work out. This is because later, each row will start with one double crochet, then 8 sets of one treble and three double crochets, then another treble crochet, and lastly another double crochet (i.e. 1+8(1+3)+1+1=35 stitches per row)
