″Papilio″ means butterfly in Esperanto. Papilio is a cardigan with a pattern in two colours on the yoke, and a line of butterflies knit in intarsia along the left of the front. The cardigan is knit top-down, and is knit in the round and steeked. Because the cardigan is knit top-down, it is easy to try on as you knit. Papilio has more stitches (and thus more room) in the front than in the back. Other than that there are no suggestions for shaping the body. There are instructions for sleeves with wide and narrow ribbing.
The pattern includes tutorials for:
Lifted increase
Intarsia in the round
How to compensate for different row gauge between one colour knitting and stranded knitting
Instruction for converting the pattern to being knit flat.
