Hi Im a new member who just joined few days ago.I am very excited and happy about how resourceful this place is.But I read from somewhere that there are virus/malware stealing people passwords with the downloads.
I am a bit worried now.
I wonder if anyone has such kind of bad luck or bad experience care to share?
do you really think the one who puts a virus in the download process will answer your question with: yes, I do so.?
its like everything in the internet: dont take everything anyone writes for truth and think by yourself if the matter is worth the risk :)
I think people who put up the virus of course wont admit it, but maybe people who have known someone whove been a victim might have some stories to tell.
But no worries. No offense taken.

I assumed (correctly I think) that it is people who are against the site putting up warnings in the hope that it will stop people from coming here. I have never had a virus, but it is an often effective way to dissuade people from using certain sites.
Yes, it is! I dont risk it when these warning popup. I had some kind virus many years ago and the only site I could go one was THEIRS and if I wanted my computer working again I would have to buy their software or something. I guess its called Ransom ware now.The computer could not be fixed so, I had trash it. One the good side, I was in a class action law suit against these people and was awarded $500 bucks!
