Issues with Viruses/Malware on PinDIY?

Anyone experienced any issues with viruses encrypted in downloadable patterns on PinDIY? The whole look and feel of the website seems a little dodgy, but there's a pattern I really want on here.
I'm just hesitant to download it on my computer as I've seen some reviews saying people ended up with viruses on their computers after downloading patterns. I'm not sure how much to believe of this, therefore I'm seeking advice from proper people.


I am considering using a public computer (e.g. at a library) to download my pattern, therefore protecting my own personal computer, but I won't be at a library for a little while and wanted this pattern sooner than that.

Any insights much appreciated.

has been hanging on the Internet for a long time. I read it several years ago and it is still there.
I think everyone understands that there are many people who categorically do not like that we exchange patterns here. That is why they write slander.
So do not worry. There are no viruses here.

This site IS safe, and so are all the attachments. You don't have to be scared.

I've probably downloaded 100 patterns since I discovered this site and I haven't had any problems at all :) every new pattern that someone uploads goes to the "waiting area" for moderators to check before anyone is able to download it!

I have never had a download containing a virus from this site.  I take the reasonable precaution of virus scanning all the files that I download from any and all sites, even the library,  book store, or Ravelry.

never! the moderators check every file before it becomes available to the membership. I've been here since 2014 and have never had a single issue with a file here.

As a moderator we download all the patterns and magazines.
Until now i haven't found any virus or malware.
The site is well protected and safe.
