I've been seeing them around often. I'm used to seeing written patterns but the charts in particular seem daunting to learn. If you yourself have learned how to read them(and get the hang of them) how long did it take? I'm hoping seeing other's replies gives me motivation to actually touch that subsect of crochet.
I would say that while they were easy to learn, I tend to get lost on them so easily lol! So I'm always making light markings on it to point where I am, specially if I have to do chores/work and get interrupted constantly.
On pc I mark with something like photoshop or gimp, printed charts get the colored pencils :lol
One graph says more than a thousand words. It's absolutely worth to learn crochet or knitting charts & it isn't difficult at all.
Lay a list with the symbols & their meaning beside you & start with simple, basic stiches you need the most like chain stitch, simple crochet & so on. Focus on what you're doing & you'll get it in no time.
I second this, basically any hobby or new skill pertaining to a hobby is best learned when you have a written form and video form working in unison. It just itches the brain correctly lol
I don't know how long it took to read them, but learning the symbols is the hardest. And every handwork has is own symbols. I'm learning every day with a new technique
