Midsummer Meadow Tunic or Dress by Heidi Atwood-Reeves

This versatile knit for girls can be knit to dress or tunic length with instructions for sleeveless and cap sleeve versions. Worked from the bottom up starting with a folded hem, Midsummer Meadow features dandelion flowers sprouting from the hem, a sweet picot welt, and an all-over dandelion flower pattern across the yoke. Subtle gathers across the front and a box pleat at the centre back pull in the skirt, and a buttoned keyhole opening at the back neck makes the dress easy to pull on and off.
The dress is worked in the round up to the underarms, and then the front and back of the yoke are knit flat. A three needle bind-off joins the shoulders.  Includes photos to illustrate special techniques, including the box pleat, picot welt, and the fixed loop and extended loop stitches used for the flower motifs.
