Sewing Quilted Patchwork Jackets will take you through each step of the process to handcraft a quilted jacket!
Whether you want to use new fabrics or you are upcycling and repurposing an existing quilt, orphan blocks, or fabric scraps, you will learn to properly position blocks, add appliqué elements, layer, quilt, and construct piece-by-piece.
Authors Rae Cumbie and Carrie Emerson reveal the four different approaches they use: jackets with loose linings and two quilted layers; jackets with the lining quilted into a sandwich for three layers; reversible jackets with two decorative sides and batting in between; and jackets created from already made quilts.
For beginners to wearable quilting, the authors provide an overview of materials and tools needed, basic garment construction, fabric selection, piecing and placement, liners, hem length, and finishing details including collars, cuffs, and pockets.  Intermediate and advanced quilters can modify the projects to suit their level of expertise, finding inspiration to be adventurous from the included gallery of quilted jacket designs.
