The Sarah skirt pattern features a high waist, midi length and single front leg split. You could however make this skirt with double splits, or even no splits very easily if you prefer! The skirt fastens with a concealed/invisible side zipper.
Fabric Suggestions: Best Drapey & Fluid Fabrics (Ideal for the Sarah Skirt)- Viscose (Rayon): The ultimate go-to for the Sarah skirt. It creates a soft, fluid silhouette and allows the skirt to move beautifully as you walk.
- Crepe: A slightly textured, elegant fabric that provides a gentle drape and a lovely weight.
- Crepe Back Satin: Adds a touch of luxury and sheen, with enough weight to make the split fall elegantly.
- Silk: A premium choice that offers the most fluid, luxurious drape imaginable.
- Tencel/Lyocell: A sustainable, breathable option that offers a fantastic, heavy drape similar to silk or rayon.
Best Structured Fabrics:- Lightweight Cotton Lawn or Voile: Great for a slightly more structured look with a crisp, breathable feel—perfect for summer.
- Linen: A breezy, summery staple that will have a bit more structure but still creates a relaxed, comfortable midi
Sewing Level: This pattern is labelled as advanced beginner, due to the skills needed to sew an invisible/concealed zipper and sew darts. So if you are a beginner with some experience and want something a little more challenging, just take it slow and don't rush it, and always make a sample before the final garment!
A basic knowledge of how to use a sewing pattern, and basic sewing machine knowledge is needed for this pattern.
