Widows Kiss is worked from the bottom up. Body and sleeves are knit separately in the round to armhole and joined at yoke, which is then knit seamlessly to end. Shaping is done along the raglan seams and short rows added to the top of the sweater add extra depth to the back.
Widow’s Kiss was designed to showcase the heather and character of the fiber, with a bold cable repeat that offers enough negative and positive space to show up in the yarn, but also appears almost delicate when reflected in the halo these fibers offer. The motif is easier than it looks, with long stretches of 2x2 rib hidden in the cables. The upper yoke takes advantage of this, transitioning into a beautifully distinct neckline with a combined raglan/saddle shoulder. Sleeves are worked in stockinette, and detail along the sides makes for easy modifications. Widow’s Kiss is knit seamlessly from the bottom up.
