I only ever knew about the V way, how do you handle the X way when a pattern tells you for example to hook under both lines of the V?

I just started the X method and love how much cleaner the stitches come out.

Yes! I use a 0.25 bigger crochet hook with x stich, because they are much fuller than v stitches.
