I ventured into card making for my sister's birthday next week and decided that the cross stitch looked a little bare, hence my venture into the wide and wonderful (not to mention costly) world of embellishments. I think I did okay, but I'm still not completely satisfied. I think the next card I do will be a little better, but that means another trip to my favorite store.

Your tree skirt is coming along awesome! Great job on it! You card is lovely. I completely agree with you about the cost of embellishments, it is stupid what the LNS charges for it. Did you try the dollar store? Some of ours here (Edmonton, Alberta) have wonderful crafting/scrapbooking sections and you can get general embellishments for a quarter of the price.

Please take Idwire's suggestion about Dollar Tree. I did check out one in our area (Southern California) and was surprised with their crafting sections and their unbeatable price.
