Hello,

I need help to understand this part of a pattern.

“2 hdc around the post of the same hdc as last worked in row 71, now work 1 hdc around the POST of the hdc at each row end down the back curvature of the hood. DO NOT confuse these with standard back post/front stitches. This is working into the SIDE of the stitch into the post at the end of the row. ”

This means just to crochet with hdc  all over the edge ?

Thank you!

I did this once. You work your hdc into the up/down part of the stitch, rather than the loop that is lying on top. By the sounds of the instructions, you start with 2 hdc around the post at the beginning, then 1 hdc in the following stitches to the row end then another hdc around the post. Without actually seeing the picture I'm not sure if this is correct or not. Perhaps you are suppose to do hdc around the post all across. Doing around the post gives the work a "stand up" 3-D effect and makes it look wavy.

Yes, that is correct. The "post" is the up and down part of the stitch from the row the stitch is in, and the loop at the top.

please, is there any pic illustrating this fragment? And what does THE POST mean? Does this mean here the the standing BODY of the hdc rather than back and front upper loops of the stitch?
