If you are worried about colour fastness, make a few stitches on a piece of scrap white fabric.Moisten a paper tissue and dab the stitches. If any colour comes off onto the tissue, you have your answer!Either wash the thread and risk losing the original shade, or make sure your hands and work area are pristine throughout your project. Thank you very much for sharing! Very helpful.thank you thank you very much. I never tired silk thread for cross stitch yet, only use DMC floss....:( Sometimes its also better to avoid silk.. otherwise youll get addicted :D I never tried silk but I am very much interested. I love the shine outcome :) I have used all of the threads listed, my favorite is eterna silk also in silk Crescent colors Belle Soie and Dinky Dyes and yes silk floss very addictive nice color~thank you for the good infromation~ also forgot Stef Francis makes silk floss.
My favourites are Vikki Clayton, Gloriana, Dinky Dyes. I never try silk thank you for your advice
Betty i use sometimes the silk floss, is really soft in touch, and really pretty colors, i see only one problem, the dark color could loss and dye the fabric, and for the girl who wash the work after, must to wash the silk before use,or all the fabric (fiish work) coul be a disaster.
