the same as the other girl: in an external hard disk then in designers folders and name of patterns...that is the best , so you may save them and look at the picture of each designer to choose what you want to do!:)

Thank you girls for all the great ideas! I already have backups for my charts but i´ll start renaming them.
Regards!

Love "xstitchmads" answer above, LOL !!
But I do "try" (using the world loosely) to keep them separated by designer, and then by subject for all those not be designer

I store my patterns trying to store them by content or designer and then I copy them in cds

I have soft copies and hard copies of different charts,
the one in the computer are segragated in different folders according to type (i.e. cartoons, animals, religious , orientals etc)
the hard copies, they are in clearbooks and also according to type,

I have a memory stick, has 2 folders ;- HAED patterns and general x stitch patterns... about as organised as I get :lol

i put them in folders eg, Ladies, children etc, and keep them all on disc

I have the patterns also on a external harddisk, in folders ,designers and so on.
For the safety i have burn them also on a dvdAND i have a list, made in exel with al the names, designers and the disk wheretoo look,if i want something new too stitch....
