Has anyone tried the Fish Lips Heel pattern for socks that was $1.00 US on Ravelry?Im always looking for a better way to do heels and wanted some opinions. Thanks in advance
I havent. What do you knit? Im a knitter also.Post some pics so we can see. You will also receive coins for posting:) Welcome to the site:) I love your Avatar (looks like a knit version of my Jack :-)I really am a newbie to the site - where can I post pictures?I many of the items Ive made on Ravelry.I knit whatever strikes my fancy LOL.I have a new great-grandson due in September so Ill make another Henrys Sweater (made one for the last grandchild born in November), and Ill crochet the same blanket for this new great-grandson that I crocheted for his dad when he was born.I love making shawls, hats, socks (dont necessarily knit garments for myself but I am working on a sleeveless top with Plucky Knitter fingering yarn). I have this pattern, and i know that it is on the sight. i found the directions very confusing. So there goes another method that i though would help me make socks. lol i must have a dozen different ways to make socks and have yet to master them :(Good luck Perhaps have a word with the poster of these socks for advice?:)

I knit socks all the time and the ones you pointed me to are lovely.Im really interested in the Fish Lips Heel though and I think these are all done with a gusset flap. The Fish Lips Heel is a pattern published on Ravelry for a very nominal fee but as another posted pointed out, the directions seem to be a bit confusing.Im thinking this particular way of knitting the heel may be confusing to most folks (even those of us who have been knitting for a very long time). My guild is sponsoring Candace Eisner Strick and she will be teaching her "Strick-ly Sock" - the heel and toe are knit flat but theres no seaming so it should prove very interesting.Im sure there will be a handout and if I can figure out how to post it I will. Thanks for the advice and being so kind as to check for me - very much appreciated. static/image/common/user_online.gif sundrop016 static/image/common/clock.gif 2015-4-13 18:49 static/image/common/back.gif

i havent figured out how to resize photos yet. i also seam to do more knitting for others then my self. I knit for my church and there is someone always in need. i have a swing jacket on hold for myslef. i have the back done and part of the first front. i am making my self a shawl right now also. I have stated that i am going to finish this, U have a few summer dresses that this will go with. It has just taken me forever to finish it seams. another 5 - 10 inches to go. http://www.pindiy.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=195767&highlight=fish%2Blips%2Bkiss%2Bheel I bought the pattern but is way too long for me to sit and read it. Its a shame because most knitters seem to like it. I have been thinking that I need to make some tea, relax and sit with the pattern to see if I can finally understand it (I am a visual learner but there are no video tutorials since its a pay for pattern :( )
The heel I like and its very good for socks that will have lots of use is the one that comes on the free pattern: Hermiones Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder (the garter stitch - slip stitch heel is very good)
