I love your Avatar (looks like a knit version of my Jack :-)  I really am a newbie to the site - where can I post pictures?  I many of the items Ive made on Ravelry.  I knit whatever strikes my fancy LOL.  I have a new great-grandson due in September so Ill make another Henrys Sweater (made one for the last grandchild born in November), and Ill crochet the same blanket for this new great-grandson that I crocheted for his dad when he was born.  I love making shawls, hats, socks (dont necessarily knit garments for myself but I am working on a sleeveless top with Plucky Knitter fingering yarn).

I knit socks all the time and the ones you pointed me to are lovely.  Im really interested in the Fish Lips Heel though and I think these are all done with a gusset flap.  The Fish Lips Heel is a pattern published on Ravelry for a very nominal fee but as another posted pointed out, the directions seem to be a bit confusing.  Im thinking this particular way of knitting the heel may be confusing to most folks (even those of us who have been knitting for a very long time).  My guild is sponsoring Candace Eisner Strick and she will be teaching her "Strick-ly Sock" - the heel and toe are knit flat but theres no seaming so it should prove very interesting.  Im sure there will be a handout and if I can figure out how to post it I will.  Thanks for the advice and being so kind as to check for me - very much appreciated.

I have socks that are almost finished, but they have been almost finished for three years now:) I took them off DPN and put them on round needles. Im looking for someone like you to finish them  Post time 2015-5-7 09:42
No probs - the Strick-ly sock method sounds interesting - please keep us updated!  Post time 2015-4-23 05:00

I bought the pattern but is way too long for me to sit and read it. Its a shame because most knitters seem to like it. I have been thinking that I need to make some tea, relax and sit with the pattern to see if I can finally understand it (I am a visual learner but there are no video tutorials since its a pay for pattern :( )
The heel I like and its very good for socks that will have lots of use is the one that comes on the free pattern: Hermiones Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder (the garter stitch - slip stitch heel is very good)
