Scared by this new way of earning Gold Coins

Hello people!

I keep reading about how enthusiastic some are about earning gold coins by sharing on FB and other social media links that bring to this home.
I am worried sick that soon this page might be shut down.
Are the moderators not concerned that this can happen? I thought it was an exclusive place, where we had to be careful about what is shared. Even some specific watermarks are not allowed.... and now we are encouraged to share links to the patterns on FB?
I do not understand!

Please, let us discuss about this. What do you think?
I said in the original thread that I shall not use this feature. I find it unsafe for pinDIY and for all of us.

I am speaking with my utmost respect for moderators and users. Just expressing a concern I have been feeling.

Lots of love to everyone.

ghiromi

Some people are totally obsessed with getting as many gold coins as possible, you just have to see the number of posts about them! But to link this site to Facebook would probably be the dumbest thing you could ever do! The site could get shut down, if youre on any cross stitch related groups on Facebook youll be thrown out of and banned by them and others youre not even in and youll incur the wrathe of the designers! So is it worth it for a few gold coins. Absolutely not!

Thank you for bringing up this topic Ghiromi! :loveliness: I am all for promoting PinDIY and helping it grow. I love it here and only want the best for it and all of us. I am sorry but there is no way I would link my Facebook to here. The risk is crazy for me and for PinDIY. Someone already mentioned you would be removed and banned from any cross stitch related pages you might be associated with and the designers would go after you legally. I am not willing to risk that. I am very careful about what I share about myself everywhere and isnt that what they teach us to do to not have bad things happen? I have been on the receiving end of angry designers for using the same nickname in lots of places, its terrifying, never let that happen again. Sorry I cant promote PinDIY through Facebook but I am happy to promote it in all ways I can while protecting myself.. and PinDIY. Love it here and thanks for a great discussion! :)

I am glad I am not the only one who is worried about using your Facebook account to get gold coins!
I would never do that either...I keep my Pindiy seperate from everything else. I dont know why they made that way to earn gold coins and hope they turn it back.

I totally agree and I actually saw a new post in the free talk section last week titled this is illegal. It was a post from a crochet designer that had found her patterns posted on the site and she went on to say that she had even contacted other designers to let them know what was going on! I cant find the post anymore so Im assuming it was taken down.

Im worried about this, Im pretty new at the site and its great. I do buy my patterns but love see ...

I am the same way. I have no problem buying the patterns from companies that still have them for sale. But I have no problem downloading patterns that are no longer available to buy. Ive seen so many patterns just in the dimensions category that I had never even seen before because they havent been for sale in a long time!

totaly agree!!!

I do agree with you as well. The interest by earning some coins soon could turn this against the page.

Im not on Facebook, have my reason for this. I agree with the others, if all go to facebook Pindyi will be gone. You get bet on it.

Isso também me preocupa!

Totally agree with you, but the opportunity to earn coins by sharing the link leads to such effects. I dont share my Identity on any social media and for good reasons.

Not to mention the legal nightmare if the government decided to look at your hard drives and charge you for copyright infringement.I have read a few articles on the people
who have faced huge fines, and the law could change, making anything you buy, if shared, could cost you.For now they seem content with movies and infringement, but that could change.
Anyone outside of a few countries that lack copyright laws would be exempt from prosecution, but for the rest of us.........its best to be careful.

Im worried about this, Im pretty new at the site and its great. I do buy my patterns but love seeing tons of old ones that never seen before or ideas and all this could be in danger.
