Thank you for bringing up this topic Ghiromi! :loveliness: I am all for promoting PinDIY and helping it grow. I love it here and only want the best for it and all of us. I am sorry but there is no way I would link my Facebook to here. The risk is crazy for me and for PinDIY. Someone already mentioned you would be removed and banned from any cross stitch related pages you might be associated with and the designers would go after you legally. I am not willing to risk that. I am very careful about what I share about myself everywhere and isnt that what they teach us to do to not have bad things happen? I have been on the receiving end of angry designers for using the same nickname in lots of places, its terrifying, never let that happen again. Sorry I cant promote PinDIY through Facebook but I am happy to promote it in all ways I can while protecting myself.. and PinDIY. Love it here and thanks for a great discussion! :)
I think in the same way!

Not to mention the legal nightmare if the government decided to look at your hard drives and charge...
Ive been on the receiving end of threatening letters from Alan Darts lawyers many years ago - will NEVER promote this site on a public forum like Facebook. My experience happened on a torrent site - all these designers have trolls whether you wish to believe it or not. There is no way short of an extensive background check to know who is signing up on sites.Perhaps they just didnt think it through went they decided to offer GC for posting on FB (or they were just unaware of the consequences to people who do post the link on FB???).Just my two cents worth.
I fully agree with those not willing to share on Facebook. Its not worth the mess it can create!
I specifically dont do that task as I was hounded by designers once when a person here took a dislike to me and hacked my account sending all my details to designers. :/ I would never share my association to this site voluntarily.
agree, im only new but have already found some amazing patterns that i have been searching for ages for and would not post to facebook about it
I cant help but agree, totally! Im not on FB and never will be because of the various dangers to me personally, so why would Pindiy then ask us to do something that would so expose us and the forum seems so thoughtless and ill-considered to say the least. The only reason I can think of is that for many new members over the last year or so the prices went up so much while the ways of earning GC went slightly down that it became discouraging hard to earn enough. Thankfully there are a lot of people who still price their patterns reasonably (at least with x-stitch), but once you start asking for 100 or more + forum cost, well that is one pattern every 2 days for a new member (unless they start replying to anything and everything for GC). I think the forum was hoping they would end up buying GC, thereby helping with their financial problems, and perhaps some did. Though all I think it did was discourage some old members as well as new. If the forum does need money I think it would be better to hold a fundraiser with GC as rewards, since even a small amount from each of us would go a long way, and it would be a better way to get GC too.
thank you for info

Im on Pinterest and can also share the link, I dont do that.
I like it here, Pinterest has also patterns, but difficult to download, I have posted some works that all, and follow my hairdresser.
Pindyi is the best site, a brother of sister is 4 crafter.com almost the same, got a tip and take a look at it, not my thing, I stay here.!!!!
I wondered the exact same thing.I did share it on Facebook but didnt even get the gold coins when I had someone click on the link anyways. But then I got to thinking about the same thing and I deleted the posts it does seem way to risky to share it on Facebook. I have started to find and download the things I want just in case the site does get shut down because of someones Facebook post!
