Holding Yarn in left hand vs right hand
I am left handed, but knit right handed. I want to learn to crochet, but I cant get the hang of holding the yarn in my left and and the hook on my right. Can I switch them without too much trouble or is it like knitting left handed (complicated conversions)? Thank you in advance. It’s great that you're giving crochet a try. Since you already knit right-handed, I think you’ll find switching things around for crochet to be a little easier. In crochet, you can definitely hold the yarn in your left hand and the hook in your right if that feels more comfortable for you. Unlike knitting, crochet doesn’t require such specific hand positioning or conversions between left and right-handed techniques. Many left-handed people do crochet with the hook in their right hand, so you’re not alone! You'll just need to practice getting comfortable with holding the yarn and controlling the tension in your left hand. There might be a slight adjustment period, but it shouldn't be as tricky as switching for knitting.Take it slow and try practicing a simple stitch like chain stitches or single crochet—once you get the motion down, it’ll feel more natural. Happy crocheting!Thank you very much for the information and good luck. there are some youtube tutorials to learn to crochet for left handed people, you can check :) Thank for you sharing. Its a nice apport contribution. What you want is the continental version of knitting which is all left handed.....rather than the throwing of the yarn which is more Canadian or american right handed....if you can learn to do both its a great way to do fairisle or patterns that require more than one colour Espero que pronto cojas el truco y disfrutes de tu trabajo, Ya nos contarás I can suggest the PlanetJune blog by June Gillibank. There section specifcally written for left-handed crocheteers

I will check that out, thank you! I cannot imagine how it can be easy... I would say if it is easier to you, learn to crochet right handed as you learned to knit.I am a lefty myself.I feel your pain.Hang in there and I say if the results are the same, who cares which road we take to arrive! :)
