I need some help with Knitting terms
Ive got this pattern in English but it makes no sense to me -its true, Im quite new with knitting, also, I could be wrong but I think this is a translation from German...Anyway, could anybody be so kind to help me with this two words in the pattern --they both look like abbreviations to me!:
RM and ES
Trousers
Needles 3 mm or 3.5mm if you knit too tight.
First stitch is a RM take off.
Knit last stitch.
-----------------------
Front:
1. Knit the first 13 sts on the second leg, then knit the last 13 sts on the first leg (from 14th st to 26th st), turn = (26)
2. 26p
3.ES, 2k, double every 4th stitch, k, ES =(32)
4-20. (17Rows) knit in stockinette st.(32)
What pattern is it? Sosole Puppen - Daria Vild - Elefant - Elephant

Ive been knitting for 64 years and this has me stumped.RM usually means Remove Marker. Why dont you just write to the person who wrote the pattern and ask for an explanation. They usually respond and are happy to help.I dont normally knit toys so I dont want to download the pattern :-( If it translated from german the RM = Randmasche which translates to "edge stitch" and the abbrevation ES stands for edge stitch.
Therefore both mean edge stitch, one is just the german abbrevation for it that got mixed in.
