anyway, trick of the light is a book about a dude struggling w anorexia, but the narrator is anorexia itself

its pretty cool, because you dont often see unreliable narrators that when youDO find out theyre unreliable, you can tell exactly why and how

its also just really interesting because it gets creepy super fast, because the voice of anorexia sounds really reassuring and comforting when youre reading at first, and then it gets creepy really fast, and its cool because when you re-read it, its actually been creepy and predatory from the start, you just couldnt tell

its great story telling tbh, because thats literally how an ED sneaks up on ppl who struggle with it, like theyre supposed to be coping mechanism and reassuring control and stuff, and then theyre actually horrible addictions

im pretty much done with the book, its really good. Its super creepy because i related a lot with the main character, in all personal aspects of his life, not just the ED, but its just super well written

Im kind of obsessed with the way the ED isolates the main character completely and slowly

its scarily realistic that he pushes away all his friends, and then makes friends with another girl who struggles with anorexia also, and if youve had an ED you can tell from the get-go (red bracelet and a friends called ana etc etc) but i can totally see how everyone else would totally miss it
